SME Credit Underwriter

London – Office based 5 days a week

I am representing a fantastic SME Lender who are looking to expand their close knit London based team to support the growth of their commercial lending book

After launching in 2024, they have found a niche in the SME lending market with their individualistic approach to business lending. They have perfect balance of using tech & automation for speed and efficiency whilst having human element to all lending decisions creating bespoke offer to suit the business owner.

They have an industry leading C-Suite team & direct access to investor capital allowing continuous growth of the lending book.

As an Underwriter, you will follow the journey from introduction through to execution giving you the opportunity to deep dive into the cases you are working on.

• Direct interaction with our BDM or Broker who is representing the deal to understand all nuances
• Completing all background, compliance & credit checks
• Working directly with C suite on deal sign off

We are looking for:

• 3+yrs SME / Commercial unsecured lending experience
• Proven success in underwriting cases both manually and using automation
• Strong analytical mindset & attention to deal
• Strong communicator – Ability to articulate complex credit decisions to both internal & external parties inc Brokers
• Innovative and keen to influence the growth of a scaling business
