Site Supervisor – Substation & Cable Route Works\n\nLocation: Scotland\nContract Type: Long-term contract / Permanent (DOE)\nStart: January 2026\n\nThe Role\n\nWe are seeking an experienced Site Supervisor to support the delivery of a major substation project, with a strong focus on cable route construction works. The successful candidate will oversee day-to-day site activities, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, and to the required quality standards.\n\nThis role is well suited to a hands-on supervisor with a background in utilities, power, or civil infrastructure projects.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n * \n\n Supervise cable route works including trenching, ducting, draw pits, reinstatement, and associated civils\n\n * \n\n Coordinate subcontractors, plant, and labour on site\n\n * \n\n Ensure compliance with RAMS, CDM Regulations, and site-specific H&S requirements\n\n * \n\n Carry out site briefings, toolbox talks, and daily activity planning\n\n * \n\n Liaise with the Site Manager, Project Manager, and client representatives\n\n * \n\n Monitor quality, productivity, and progress against the programme\n\n * \n\n Ensure environmental controls are in place in line with SEPA requirements\n\n * \n\n Maintain accurate site records, permits, and reports\n\nRequirements\n\n * \n\n Proven experience as a Site Supervisor on substation, power, or cable route projects\n\n * \n\n Strong understanding of civil works related to HV/LV cable installation\n\n * \n\n SMSTS or SSSTS (essential)\n\n * \n\n CSCS card (Supervisor level or higher)\n\n * \n\n First Aid at Work\n\n * \n\n Good knowledge of H&S legislation and best practice\n\n * \n\n Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications\n\n * \n\n Full UK driving licence\n\nDesirable\n\n * \n\n Experience working on live substations or power projects\n\n * \n\n Temporary Works Supervisor\n\n * \n\n Confined Space or NRSWA certification\n\n * \n\n Scottish utilities or DNO experience\n\nWhat’s on Offer\n\n * \n\n Competitive rate / salary depending on experience\n\n * \n\n Long-term work on a major infrastructure project\n\n * \n\n Opportunity to work within a well-established delivery team
