We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Second-in-Command Plant Supervisor to join our team at Stericycle. This role is crucial for assisting the Plant Manager in overseeing the daily operations of our facility, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations, optimizing efficiency, and leading a team of dedicated employees.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Assist the Plant Manager in planning, organizing, and directing plant operations to ensure the most effective return on assets.
  • Ensure plant operations align with all regulatory and company requirements for safety, health, and environmental standards.
  • Support and supervise staff, providing training, performance evaluations, and development opportunities.
  • Oversee production processes, ensuring the plant meets quality and efficiency standards.
  • Help manage plant budgets, costs, and inventory, aiming for cost-effective production and timely delivery.
  • Collaborate with the Plant Manager to develop and implement strategies to enhance operational efficiency and productivity.
  • Facilitate continuous improvement initiatives and foster a culture of innovation and accountability within the team.
  • Act as Plant Manager in their absence, maintaining smooth and efficient operations.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in plant operations or manufacturing, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of safety, health, and environmental regulations and practices.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a proven ability to motivate and develop staff.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficient in using MS Office and experience with ERP systems.
