Seeking an experienced Standalone Site Manager to deliver a £1.5m warehouse and office refurbishment at a food production facility. The project is a 12-week fast-track programme, starting 5th May, with the Site Manager reporting into a visiting Project Manager.This role requires a hands-on, self-sufficient Site Manager comfortable running site operations independently while maintaining high safety, quality, and programme standards within a regulated food production environment.Key ResponsibilitiesSite & Project DeliveryFull day-to-day management of the site as the lead and sole Site ManagerDelivery of warehouse and office refurbishment works to programme and budgetCoordination and supervision of all subcontractors and trades on siteManagement of site logistics, access, deliveries, and work sequencingEnsuring works are completed in line with specifications, drawings, and standardsHealth, Safety & ComplianceOverall responsibility for H&S compliance on siteImplementing and enforcing RAMS, risk assessments, and method statementsMaintaining site records, permits, and statutory documentationActing as Fire Warden and Temporary Works Coordinator where requiredManaging asbestos awareness requirements and controlsEnsuring compliance with CDM Regulations and food production site protocolsProgramme & Quality ControlManaging the 12-week construction programme and short-term planningMonitoring progress, identifying risks, and driving recovery where requiredCarrying out inspections, snagging, and quality assurance checksCoordinating final completion, handover, and close-out documentationCommunication & ReportingReporting progress, issues, and risks to the visiting Project ManagerLiaising directly with the client and on-site stakeholdersMaintaining strong communication across subcontractors and suppliersRepresenting the project in a professional and proactive manner at all timesRequired Qualifications & CertificationsEssentialSMSTSCSCS (Black or Gold preferred)First Aid at WorkDesirableFire WardenTemporary Works Coordinator (TWC)Asbestos AwarenessExperience & BackgroundProven experience as a Standalone Site ManagerStrong background in warehouse, industrial, or office refurbishmentsExperience working in food production or regulated environments preferredConfident managing fast-track refurbishment projects up to £1.5mComfortable working independently with minimal day-to-day supervisionPersonal AttributesHighly organised and proactiveStrong leadership and decision-making skillsSafety-driven with excellent attention to detailConfident communicator with a professional approachAble to manage pressure and tight programmes effectivelyPlease click here to find out more about our Key Information Documents.
