Job Summary - Site Manager - £375 per day - 9 Months
Outside IR35 - Paid Ltd Co. or CIS
We are seeking a Site Manager to oversee daily civils and groundworks operations—including earthworks, drainage, ducting, foundations, and external finishes on a BESS project near Bridgwater where the company is working as a subcontractor to deliver the on site civils on behalf of the main contractor.
The site manager will work alongside the Project Manager and Project QS to ensure the project is delivered safely, on time, and to the high quality standards that the company is known for.
Of key importance is that candidates will have specific experience of working for a civils subcontractor responsible for delivery of multiple packages of work.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Management: Plan daily project works and manage resources, including plant, materials, directly employed labour and any subcontractors. Proactively and positively solve problems whilst maintaining team morale. Ensure company standards and procedures are followed.
Technical Oversight: Oversee specific packages such as S278 works, foul drainage, storm drainage, reinforced concrete (RC), and ducting.
Safety Leadership: Be fully conversant with the requirements of CDM; Conduct site inductions, Toolbox Talks, and Daily Activity Briefings (DABs); ensure full compliance with HSEQ and RAMS. Ensure daily and weekly checks are carried out and recorded as per requirements of CDM/LOLER/PUWER.
Coordination & Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for the main contractor's project manager, site engineers, and client stakeholders.
Quality Control: Maintain accurate site records, manage the snagging process, and ensure all work matches technical drawings and specifications; Assist with preparation of Inspection and Test plans (ITPs) to ensure adequate signoff and handover of completed sections.
Commercial Support: Assist in monitoring package costs, identifying variations (CVIs), and providing information for monthly valuations.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Mandatory Certifications:
SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme),
CSCS Black Card (Manager level),
First Aid at Work certificate,
EUSR Category 1 & 2,
Temporary Works Supervisor,
Strong IT skills and ability to use Microsoft Office
Preferred Qualifications:
Appointed Person Lifting Ops,
Confined Space (Medium Risk)
Experience of using Fonn platform
Experience: Proven track record in specialised groundworks or civil engineering with demonstrable experience of delivering multi faceted projects including foul and storm drainage, ducting as well as formwork, reinforcement and concrete.
Specific experience of delivering BESS/STOR civils projects is highly desirable.
Technical Proficiency: Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and perform material take-offs. Ability to perform basic setting out including taking levels from datum points.
Drivers Licence: Full UK driving licence is required
