Role
We are seeking a reliable, proactive and highly organised Site Manager to lead and manage site services across the Federation of Catshill Middle School and Catshill First School.
This is a key operational role within the Federation, ensuring our school environments are safe, secure, well‑maintained and fully compliant, supporting high‑quality teaching and learning for all pupils.
As Federation Site Manager, you will be responsible for the day‑to‑day management of both school sites, overseeing premises, grounds, security, health and safety compliance and contractor activity. You will coordinate maintenance and minor works, manage site‑related resources and ensure consistently high standards across both schools.
The postholder will also line manage the Caretaker at Catshill First School, providing clear direction, support and supervision to ensure effective site operations.
Key responsibilities
Managing all aspects of site operations across both schools, including buildings, grounds, security and utilities
Coordinating planned and reactive maintenance, liaising with contractors and ensuring value for money
Ensuring full compliance with health and safety, fire safety, and statutory premises requirements
Acting as a keyholder, responding to alarms, emergencies and out‑of‑hours callouts as required
Supporting lettings and school events, including occasional evening or weekend working
Line management of the Catshill First School Caretaker, including work allocation and performance oversight
Maintaining accurate records and compliance systems in line with Trust expectations
Qualifications & experience
Is practical, organised and able to manage priorities across more than one site
Can work collaboratively with school leaders, colleagues and contractors
Good range of DIY skills
Has a working knowledge of COSHH and other statutory Health and Safety Regulations
Possesses IT skills
Is calm, reliable and solution‑focused, with a flexible approach to the needs of a busy school environment
Relevant qualifications or training in health and safety, site management or premises compliance would be desirable.

Salary & Working Hours
Grade: Scale 6, SCP 18-23, £31,537-£34,434 p.a.
Hours: 37 hours per week, full year, permanent.
