Job Ref No. ECC3032-84S Position Type: Caretaker/Site Manager Pay Range: Scale 5 Point 9-12Position Start Date: 05/01/2026 Contract Type: Part-time Contract Term: PermanentApplication Close: 15/12/2025 Midday Date of Interviews: 17th DecemberSt. George's Church of England Primary School is seeking a reliable, hardworking, proactive and friendly Site Manager / Caretaker to join our team.Hours: 6.30 – 9.00am Monday – Friday (12.5 hours per week)There may be some flexibility on the arrangement of these hours.Local Government Scale 5 Points 9-12We are looking for someone who takes pride in maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment for our children, staff and visitors.Key ResponsibilitiesUnlocking the school premises and ensuring the building and site are safe each dayEnsuring cleaning and hygiene supplies are well stockedCompleting a range of weekly, monthly and quarterly health and safety checks, with accurate record keepingCarrying out minor and general maintenance tasks around the siteliaising with contract cleaners and completing some cleaning responsibilitiesUndertaking basic grounds maintenance, including weeding and leaf collectionSupporting with deep cleaning tasks during school holidays (e.g. window cleaning, carpet washing)Managing bin and recycling collectionsAdhering to health and safety procedures and safe working practices at all timesSee Recruitment Pack for further details.It would be desirable if the candidate has knowledge of Health and Safety, Legionella awareness, working at height training and Asbestos awareness.The successful candidate will be dependable, practical and able to take initiative, with a commitment to ensuring the school is safe, well cared for, and compliant with all statutory requirements.Following safer recruitment procedures an appointment will be subject to satisfactory references, medical checks and enhanced DBS clearance.Visits to the school are encouraged and warmly welcome.St. George's Church of England Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
