This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-equipped laboratory in the North East, supporting advanced analytical testing using cutting-edge instrumentation.This role would suit a recent graduate or early-career professional with relevant AMS exposure who is looking to build their expertise in a supportive and technically advanced environment.What's on OfferIn return, you will receive a competitive package and the opportunity to grow within a forward-thinking organisation that invests in its people.Salary up to £42,000Performance-related bonus (up to 10%)Company pension scheme25 days holiday plus bank holidaysStructured training and development plansAccess to a wide range of additional benefitsThe RoleAs a Chemist within the laboratory team, you will play a key role in the operation and ongoing development of AMS-based analytical services, particularly focused on carbon-14 analysis.Key responsibilities include:Operating and maintaining a single-stage AMS systemManaging carbon extraction and graphitisation processes (CEGS)Producing accurate, high-quality analytical reports in line with ISO 17025 standardsSupporting and maintaining the laboratory's quality management systemLeading or contributing to method development and validation activitiesAssisting with external accreditation processes, including UKAS assessmentsTroubleshooting instrumentation issues and minimising downtimeManaging laboratory consumables and stock levelsThis is a varied role combining hands-on laboratory work with office-based reporting and quality activities.About YouMy client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual with a strong scientific foundation and a passion for analytical chemistry.You will ideally have:Experience or academic exposure to Accelerator Mass Spectrometry (AMS) and/or carbon extraction techniquesA degree (or minimum HNC) in Chemistry or a related scientific disciplineA solid understanding of ISO 17025 and quality systems in an analytical environmentExperience or knowledge of analytical method development and validationStrong organisational and problem-solving skillsThe ability to manage workloads effectively and work both independently and within a small teamA proactive attitude with a strong commitment to safety and quality standardsWR Logistics are the #1 recruitment partner for all vacancies in the logistics industry.
