Delivering essential infrastructure services for life, while being safety first, and client and customer centric in afriendly, fun and respectful environment where you are encouraged to thrive.Where will you be working?M Group Highways At M Group Highways, were supporting the safe transportation and movement of people across the UK.We dont just build roads and bridges- were building a better future, creating lasting social value that gives back to the communities in which we work.Youll be joining ourCivils projects team.We deliver specialist civil engineering for the private and public sectors across the UK, building strong relationships based on a collaborative approach.Want to come and be a part of it?What will you be doing?You'll lead associated site team including M Group supervision and subcontractors to successful completion of works.You'll produce and maintain the contract programme and be responsible for managing change on site in line with the NEC contract conditions.We'll ask you to monitor site activities against target programmes reporting exceptions in outputs, delays etc.You'll completeall activities with diligence and energy to maximise the time spent on site planning and supervising works.Ensuring adequate records are maintained through site photographs, daily diaries and as built drawings.You'll carry out daily site briefings and supervise sub-contractor task briefings.Monitor all works activities to ensure that they meet the Works Specification and are being delivered in a safe manner following the principles of our behavioural based safety initiative, It Starts With Me.Attend client meetings to provide them with a delivery update and manage any adverse issues.Formal communications to clients and subcontractors including but not limited to Early Warnings, and instructions.Assist in the tendering of works including evaluation and selection of sub-contract packages;You'll take ownership for safety and environmental compliance for yourprojectand ensure all identified actions are closed out within their timescale.What youll bring A good level of experience in civil engineering and workforce supervision including earthworks; drainage and structures in a highways environment;A good level of commercial acumen to facilitate cost control;Effective team management, leadership and influencing skills to get the best from everyone;Excellent customer skills and the ability to work collaboratively in all situations;The ability to drive excellent relationships with contacts at all levels including the client, colleagues and members of key stakeholders;The ability to remain flexible in your approach to the role whilst embracing change and helping to manage the change process;Experience of working on NEC3 contracts including the mechanisms for notifications.Excellent communication skills verbal and written to ensure clarity in all situations and to effectively influence client decision makingHighly organised and able to prioritise, whilst multi-tasking for many stakeholders, and still remaining focused on whats most importantWhats in it for you?
