Join Our Team as a Simulation & Data Science Presales Lead
Do you have a Chemical Engineering background and a passion for simulation, data science, and AI? Are you excited by the challenge of solving complex engineering problems with digital technology—and confident presenting your ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences?
At KBC (A Yokogawa Company), we’re looking for a Simulation & Data Science Presales Lead to join our Global Technology Pre-Sales Team. This is a unique opportunity to drive the adoption of cutting-edge solutions in Oil & Gas and Refining, helping customers achieve operational excellence and progress toward net-zero.
KBC (A Yokogawa Company) is a global leader in energy and process optimization. We combine decades of industry experience with powerful simulation, AI, and data science tools to help customers across the refining, petrochemical, and energy sectors drive performance and sustainability. Since 1979, our work has helped prevent over 400 million tonnes of CO₂ emissions—and we’re just getting started.
What You’ll Do
As a Simulation & Data Science Presales Lead, you will:
- Act as a trusted technical advisor to clients during the sales process, delivering demos, pilots, and tailored proof-of-concept models.
- Apply a combination of first-principles simulation and AI/ML techniques to address real-world engineering challenges.
- Present simulation results, predictive models, and digital twin concepts in a way that’s engaging and accessible for both technical and executive audiences.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams—sales, product management, and engineering—to align customer needs with solution capabilities.
- Respond to RFPs, support bid processes, and participate in technical evaluations to win customer confidence.
- Influence product innovation through direct feedback from customer engagements and industry trends.
What We’re Looking For
Experience & Education:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Chemical Engineering (or closely related field).
- 3+ years of experience with process modelling, simulation, or data science in the Oil & Gas, Refining, or Petrochemical industries.
- Hands-on experience with tools like Petro-SIM, Aspen HYSYS, gPROMS, Modelica, or Python-based simulation environments.
- Proficiency with data science/analytics tools (e.g., Python, pandas, Power BI, Plotly).
- Demonstrated ability to apply AI or ML techniques to simulation or engineering challenges.
- Proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts—like simulations, optimization models, or predictive analytics—to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience supporting sales or business development efforts is highly desirable.
- Prior roles in pre-sales, technical consulting, or solution engineering are a strong advantage, but not mandatory if you’ve worked in customer-facing engineering roles.
Bonus Requirements
- Exposure to digital twins, advanced process control, or real-time optimization.
- Understanding of OT/IT integration (e.g., PI System, SCADA, DCS).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms and industrial data infrastructure.
Why You Should Apply
- Shape the Future: Be part of a global team leading innovation in industrial AI and simulation.
- Drive Real Impact: Help clients decarbonize, optimize operations, and unlock new performance levels.
- Hybrid Flexibility: Work remotely with the option to connect in person at our Barcelona or Walton offices.
- Career Growth: Develop your skills in a company that invests in people, offers global mobility, and rewards innovation.
- Competitive Package: Enjoy a strong salary, bonus potential, and comprehensive benefits.
