Company Description

Working for a leading supplier of supply chain services, you will be part of a small, friendly team within the shipping department.


The company offers flexibility with workings hours with up to three days per week spent working from you.


Hours of work

Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm (there may be some flexibility)

3 days per week spent working from home


Salary details


salary negotiable dependent upon experience

10% bonus

31 days annual leave (including public and bank holidays)


Role Description


  • Coordinate and manage all aspects of import and export logistics, including scheduling, documentation, and customs compliance.


Duties

  • Prepare shipping documents, such as commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading and letters of credit, ensuring accuracy and compliance with international trade regulations.
  • Arrange pre-shipment inspections and documentation in collaboration with inspection bodies and third-party warehouses.
  • Monitor and track shipments, providing regular updates to internal stakeholders and customers, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
  • Maintain shipping records, tracking systems and databases to ensure accurate and accessible information.
  • Coordinate with freight forwarders to arrange transportation of goods, negotiate rates, and ensure on-time delivery.
  • Work closely with customs brokers to ensure compliance with customs regulations, including the preparation and submission of required documentation.
  • Management of NI entries on Trade Support System.
  • Advise business on appropriate shipping terms for non-export consignments.
  • Actively work with internal teams to optimise logistics processes and reduce touchpoints.
  • Identify and propose cost-saving opportunities.
  • Identify and manage changes to international regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Handle any Customs or other 3rd party audit inquiries or investigations.
  • Issue pre-delivery alerts and clearance instructions and initiate warehouse inbound process.
  • Responsible for collation and filing of all shipping documentation, maintain comprehensive audit trail, ensure full legal compliance for all aspect of goods movement.
  • Preparation of inbound and outbound freight quotations.
  • Responsible for checking shipping documents have accurate product weights and dimensions and working with internal partners, third party suppliers and warehouses to resolve any discrepancies.
  • Resolve any shipping-related issues, such as delays, damages, or discrepancies, by coordinating with relevant parties and implementing corrective actions.
  • Address customer inquiries and complaints.
