Make an impact!We are seeking a proactive and reliable Shift Offloading Chemist to supervise operations within the GWMC Treatment Plant, with a particular focus on tanker offloading. This role is critical in ensuring full compliance with health & safety, environmental, procedural, and statutory standards.Working as part of a small operational team, you will support the Shift Manager in delivering efficient plant performance and high levels of customer service, while maintaining safe and compliant operations at all times.Key Responsibilties: Supervise tanker offloading operationsSupport processing of containerised wasteMaintain and dose site scrubbers in line with permitsCarry out waste movements using forklift trucksManage plant traffic, supervise drivers, and cover weighbridge when neededPromote and uphold health & safety standardsSupport and direct plant operatives' daily activitiesAssist with laboratory analysis and validation workMonitor and improve operational efficiency and productivitySupervise small treatment reactor operationsReport and assist with maintenance and preventative maintenance tasksSupport waste transfer and processing optimisationMaintain accurate records in line with regulations and proceduresAct as point of contact in the Shift Manager's absenceUndertake any other reasonable duties as requiredDo you have what it takes?Qualifications:Minimum HNC in Chemistry or a related scientific disciplineEssential Skills:Reliable and dependable with a strong work ethicGood level of computer literacyStrong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work effectively as part of a teamProactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvementStrong awareness of health, safety, and environmental practicesWhat's in for you?Salary of £26,500 + 5% quarterly bonus6% contributory Pension Flexible benefits (access to our benefits platform for discounts and cash back on shopping purchases, gyms and leisure activities, cycle to work scheme and dedicated wellbeing centre).Ready to make a difference?
