Shift Mechanical Fitter

Our client operates a major manufacturing facility on the outskirts of Inverness, specialising in engineered wood products made from responsibly sourced and sustainably managed materials.

Currently looking for a Shift Mechanical Fitter to join their well established team. Reporting to the Mechanical Supervisor and shift manager duties will include but not limited to

• Repair of mechanical breakdowns throughout the plant
• Carry out preventative maintenance on mechanical equipment as required
• Identify and report any signs of equipment failure
• Ensure all documentation is kept up to date
• Install and commission equipment and services as requested
• Adopt and maintain good engineering and housekeeping procedures in all work areas
• Work carried out in accordance with permit to work code of practice
• Assist with other engineering work when and where required as directed by Mechanical supervisor

Essential Requirements

• Minimum City & Guilds/ONC level in a mechanical discipline
• Full 4-year apprenticeship completed
• Industrial maintenance experience preferred
• A strong health and safety awareness and the ability to work unsupervised
