Job Description
Leeds, Up to £48k, Monday - Friday (3 shift rotation)\n\nLM Talent Solutions, Specialists in Permanent Recruitment for Manufacturing, Logistics and Supply Chain are recruiting a an electrically biased engineer with multi-skilled capabilities and experience working with PLCs and automated systems on behalf of our established yet progressive Manufacturing client based in Leeds. Working 3 rotating shifts Mon-Friday you will be part of a friendly and experienced team of 5 engineers and report directly into the Engineering and Facilities Manager. As part of this team you will act as a key technical contact during shift, supporting production operations and driving improvements in equipment performance and reliability.\n\nYou will work closely with both engineering and production teams, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and enhancing technical capability across the workforce.
The position requires a proactive, self-motivated individual who can work independently within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nProvide reactive maintenance support to production operations to minimise downtime.\n\nPerform fault finding, diagnostics, and repairs on electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.\n\nCarry out planned, preventative, and corrective maintenance activities.\n\nSupport production teams in maintaining product safety and compliance with quality standards.\n\nIdentify and implement improvements to reduce waste, inefficiencies, and operational costs.\n\nContribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, reliability, and performance.\n\nRespond to equipment breakdowns promptly and effectively.\n\nAssist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment.\n\nAnalyse equipment performance and report on maintenance issues and trends.\n\nWork with PLC systems for fault diagnosis and repair.\n\nConduct routine inspections and ensure optimal machine performance.\n\nCollaborate closely with cross-functional teams to support operational objectives.\n\nDevelop a comprehensive understanding of site processes, equipment, and systems.\n\nSupport delivery of the site maintenance strategy to reduce unplanned downtime and optimise costs.\nHealth & Safety and other Responsibilities\n\nAdhere to and promote all workplace health and safety procedures.\n\nIdentify and report hazards to prevent incidents.\n\nAccurately report and document accidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions.\n\nMaintain a clean, safe, and hygienic working environment.\n\nParticipate in ongoing technical and professional development.\n\nEnhance communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.\n\nSupport and contribute to a positive, inclusive working environment.\n\nSkills & Experience\n\nYou will possess previous experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment. An excellent team player you will work within a team of 5 engineers and report to the Engineering and facilities Manager. You will possess the below skills and experience\n\nNVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or a completed apprenticeship.\n\nKnowledge of electrical and/or mechanical maintenance within a manufacturing setting.\n\nStrong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.\n\nUnderstanding of PLC systems (fault finding essential; programming desirable).\n\nFamiliarity with continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, TPM, 5S).\n\nGood understanding of preventative maintenance systems.\n\nAbility to read and interpret technical drawings.\n\nStrong communication and interpersonal skills.\n\nWell-organised with the ability to prioritise workload effectively.\n\nAbility to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.\n\nProactive and self-motivated approach.\n\nAwareness of relevant health and safety legislation.\n\nFull driving licence and access to transport\n\nHours of work are weekly rotating Monday to Friday (No weekends required) (Apply online only), (Apply online only) and (Apply online only)\n\nBenefits and package include 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, Pension contribution, Free onsite Parking, Annual flu vaccination, Medical Screening and access to 'Perkbox' benefits.
