Setting Out / Site Section Engineer – Stowmarket, Suffolk (Major Infrastructure Project) We are currently seeking an experienced Setting Out / Site Section Engineer to join a major National Grid civil engineering project in Stowmarket, Suffolk, starting 7th April. This is an excellent opportunity for long-term work on a significant infrastructure scheme. Role Overview: This role will focus on preliminary works, including setting out and supporting early project delivery, alongside supervisory responsibilities. Key Responsibilities: * Reviewing and interpreting site plans and drawings * Setting out for site compound and concrete bases * Carrying out accurate setting out for all aspects of the works * Supporting site supervision and coordination of subcontractors * Ensuring works are delivered in line with design, safety, and quality standards Key Skills & Requirements: * Proven experience in site engineering / section engineer / sub-agent roles on civil engineering projects * Experience in early-stage or preliminary works preferred * CSCS card – essential * SMSTS (preferred) or SSSTS * Strong knowledge of surveying equipment and setting out techniques * Ability to work independently and as part of a wider site team Location: * Site compound initially based in Stowmarket, Suffolk What’s on Offer: * Start date: 7th April * Long-term opportunity on a major National Grid project * Work with a leading contractor * All setting out equipment supplied by site * Opportunity to progress on a high-profile infrastructure scheme If you are a reliable and experienced engineer looking to secure long-term work on a major project, we want to hear from you.
