We are seeking a motivated and skilled Service Engineer to join a growing water treatment services team. This field-based position involves supporting a wide range of industrial, commercial, and local authority clients by delivering professional water treatment services, maintenance, and system support.
The successful candidate will play an important role in ensuring customers receive a reliable, technically sound, and safety-focused service. You will work independently across multiple client sites, carrying out service, maintenance, and installation tasks while maintaining strong relationships with customers.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with water treatment experience who enjoys working autonomously, solving technical challenges, and providing high-quality service in the field.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver water treatment service and maintenance activities at customer sites in a professional, efficient, and safety-conscious manner.
- Inspect systems and identify any defects, inconsistencies, or potential improvements, communicating these clearly to the customer.
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety standards, industry regulations, and customer site requirements.
- Carry out installation, servicing, and fault finding on water treatment equipment.
- Maintain accurate service records and reporting following site visits.
- Build strong relationships with customers by providing clear technical guidance and support.
- Conduct regular monthly site visits as part of planned maintenance schedules.
- Participate in sales visits to potential customers where technical input may be required.

You should be comfortable managing your own workload, solving problems on-site, and ensuring work is completed to high technical and safety standards.
Key Competencies- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Water softener knowledge (service and installation)
- Problem-solving ability and technical fault finding
- Understanding of ACOP L8 procedures
- Pipe fitting / plumbing skills
- Experience with water treatment dosing and control equipment, including cooling towers and chlorine dioxide systems
- Knowledge of health and safety procedures
- Ability to carry out test procedures relevant to water treatment processes
- General product knowledge within the water treatment sector
- Strong planning and organisational skills
- Experience with cleaning and chlorination procedures
- Acid cleaning procedures
- Excellent timekeeping and reliability
- Closed system analysis and testing
- Field-based role
- Home-based administration time
- Regular monthly service site visits
- Occasional sales visits to prospective customers
