Service Delivery Manager (Defence Team) NCC is the UK’s defence innovation partner. We’re expanding rapidly and supporting a range of interesting new projects in the Defence, Energy, Space, Marine and Technology sectors. Location: Bristol (predominantly on site with limited hybrid working) Travel: Required to travel between two close sites in North Bristol and further ad‑hoc travel to clients. Salary: £54,102 to £67,056 per annum (experience dependent) plus 12.5% employer pension contribution and private medical insurance. Security Clearance: High level government security clearance required. Closing Date: 5th January 2026 (advert may close early). Key Responsibilities
Build, recruit, lead and motivate the new IT Secure Operations delivery team. Design, implement and continuously improve service support and delivery processes aligned with ITIL best practices and existing IT Operations procedures. Manage problem management through trend analysis and prevention. Create detailed KPI reporting to support senior leadership. Manage the IT Secure Operations run budget. Own incident, request, change and escalation processes. Chair the Change Advisory Board when required. Develop standard operating procedures for key service delivery functions. Define requirements for tools and platforms to support secure delivery. Support the technical development and delivery of internal secure working environments. Take responsibility for the service transition and onboarding of all new services. Maintain required levels of security clearance.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Minimum 3 years experience in a Service Delivery Manager or similar role. Well‑rounded IT knowledge up to Service Delivery Management level. ITIL v4 Foundation qualification. Demonstrated experience managing and building teams. Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to act as bridge between business, technical, and security stakeholders. Experience implementing best practices across Microsoft environments. Knowledge of regulatory and compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials Plus. Experience working in a Security Controlled Environment. Awareness of telephony systems and various software licensing models. Strong vendor management skills. Eligible and willing to undertake high‑level government security clearance; no existing clearance required. Background in defence, engineering, R&D or manufacturing industries preferred.
