Service & Breakdown Engineer (Renewable Energy)Location: Mid Devon with UK field-based work Contract: Permanent | Full-time Sector: Renewable & Low-Carbon Energy SystemsSalary up to £38,000 base salary with earning potential up to £45,000 with overtimeAre you a hands-on engineer who enjoys fault-finding, problem-solving, and keeping critical systems running? We're looking for a Service & Breakdown Engineer to support the maintenance and reliability of renewable energy and heating systems across the UK.This is a key role for someone who takes pride in delivering excellent service and helping customers get the most out of their low-carbon technology. The RoleYou'll be responsible for the servicing, fault diagnosis, and repair of renewable energy systems, responding to both planned maintenance and reactive breakdowns in a professional and timely manner.Systems may include: Biomass boilers and associated plantDistrict heating and heat networksLow-carbon and renewable heating technologiesMechanical and control system components What You'll Be Doing Carrying out routine servicing and preventative maintenanceDiagnosing and repairing breakdowns efficiently and safelyAttending customer sites and providing clear technical feedbackCompleting service reports and documentation accuratelyEnsuring compliance with health & safety standardsRepresenting the company professionally on site About You Proven experience as a Service, Maintenance, or Breakdown EngineerBackground in mechanical, plumbing, heating, or energy systemsStrong fault-finding and diagnostic skillsComfortable working independently in a field-based roleGood communication and customer-facing skillsRenewable energy or biomass experience is highly desirable (training can be provided) Benefits Company van providedAccommodation overnight allowance30 days holiday increasing to 35 with length of serviceOvertime paid at enhanced ratesOngoing training and career development.
