Job Description
The Role
We are looking for a Senior/Lead LC-MS Scientist (Proteomics) to support the design, development and implementation of our translational biomarker tests. We apply these tests to support pharmaceutical companies developing new medicines across therapeutic areas.
The aim of these tests is to deliver treatment efficacy, targeted engagement or patient stratification biomarkers which would be used on clinical trials to aid the development of new therapies as well as for marketed drugs as companion/complementary diagnostic tools.
The key responsibilities of a Senior/Lead LC-MS Scientist (Proteomics) include, but are not limited to:
- Designing biomarker studies according to client needs
- Developing detailed LC-MS/MS analytical method protocols for implementation by laboratory staff
- Analysing LC-MS/MS data, generated on ThermoFisher, Sciex, Waters and other triple quadrupole and high resolution instruments
- Communicating study results and scientific rationale to clients
- Liaising with laboratory staff to deliver the projects to agreed timelines and budgets
- Contributing to grant, patent applications and scientific publications.
- Maintaining LC-MS instruments & other lab equipment
This is a lab-based, on-site role, located at Alderley Park near Macclesfield & Manchester
A bit about us
At Inoviv, we are building a world where every treatment reaches its full potential, powered by timely and precise proteomics insights.
Using our unique technology platform in combination with targeted mass spectrometry, we develop new biomarker tests that quantify molecules in biofluid samples with high accuracy and reproducibility. The aim of these tests is to deliver diagnostic, prognostic or treatment efficacy data which can be used in clinical trials to aid the development of new therapies, as well as for marketed drugs as companion/complementary diagnostic tools. We are working closely with pharmaceutical companies to help patients with neurodegeneration (Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, muscular dystrophies), kidney disease, cancers and other conditions.
We are a team of passionate individuals supported by academic and commercial advisors from Oxford University, King’s College London, Imperial College London, Charité University Hospital and Olink. We are also backed by the world’s leading talent investor Entrepreneur First.
