Senior Transport Planner\n£45,000 - £55,000 | Nottingham (Hybrid)\n\nThe Role\n\nA growing multi-disciplinary consultancy is looking to strengthen its Nottingham office with the addition of a Senior Transport Planner. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced planner to take ownership of technically challenging projects, contribute to the development of a regional transport planning team, and advance their career within a supportive environment.\n\nYou will work on a variety of development-led projects, providing high-quality transport planning advice from concept through to delivery, while mentoring junior team members and liaising with clients, local authorities, and stakeholders.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n * Prepare and review Transport Assessments, Statements, Notes, and Travel Plans\n\n * Apply relevant local and transport policy and guidance to projects\n\n * Undertake junction capacity modelling using Junctions 10, LinSig, Quickgreen\n\n * Utilise strategic and transport modelling tools such as TRICS and TEMPro\n\n * Produce preliminary highway designs using AutoCAD and applicable design standards\n\n * Work with GIS platforms including QGIS, ArcGIS, MapInfo, Basemap TRACC\n\n * Manage projects, coordinating with clients, consultants, and other stakeholders\n\n * Mentor and support junior staff to develop technical capability and confidence\n\nAbout You\n\nYou will ideally have:\n\n * 5+ years’ experience within UK transport planning or traffic consultancy\n\n * Strong technical skills across transport assessments and planning applications\n\n * Proficiency in modelling, design, and GIS software relevant to transport projects\n\n * Experience liaising with clients, local authorities, and multidisciplinary teams\n\n * A practical, hands-on approach with attention to detail\n\n * Membership of a professional institution such as CIHT, IHE, TPS, or actively working towards chartership (TPP or CILT)\n\n * Strong communication, organisation, and presentation skills\n\nWhat’s on Offer\n\n * Competitive salary and benefits package\n\n * Hybrid working and flexible holiday allowance\n\n * Exposure to technically interesting and varied transport planning projects\n\n * Autonomy to lead your own work and shape project outcomes\n\n * Opportunity to mentor junior staff and contribute to team growth\n\n * Clear career progression within a growing Nottingham office\n\nThis is a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Transport Planner who wants to continue developing technical expertise, take responsibility for their own projects, and be part of a growing, supportive multi-disciplinary team in Nottingham
