Job Description
Senior Transport Planner \nYou'll be joining as a Senior Transport Planner in Birmingham, where you'll work on a wide mix of development and infrastructure projects that directly influence how people move around the city and beyond. As a Senior Transport Planner, you will: \n·Work in a modern Birmingham office with excellent access to major rail stations, metro and high-frequency bus routes.
\n·Benefit from a genuinely supportive culture that encourages knowledge-sharing and close teamwork. \n·Have a clear and realistic path for career progression and professional development, with exposure to project management and direct client contact from an early stage. \n \nWhat you'll be doing day to day: \nAs a Senior Transport Planner, you will take ownership of your own projects and support others by: \n·Preparing Transport Notes, Transport Statements, Transport Assessments, Travel Plans and Site Access Appraisals.
\n·Applying your understanding of relevant local and transport policy and guidance. \n·Using Junctions software (ARCADY and PICADY) for junction capacity assessments. \n·Undertaking traffic signal design using LinSig.
\n·Producing preliminary design of accesses, junction improvements and highway schemes using AutoCAD. \n·Preparing high-quality graphics and plans using GIS packages and/or CorelDRAW. \n·Gaining exposure to project management, including client communication, progress reporting and contributing to proposals.
\n \nWhat you'll bring: \nTo thrive as a Senior Transport Planner in this role, you will need: \n·Experience in development-related transport planning. \n·A formal education in Civil Engineering, Geography, Transport Planning or a related discipline. \n·Membership (or working towards membership) of a relevant professional body such as CIHT or ICE.
