Location: Shrewsbury

Penguin Recruitment is working on behalf of a well established property and land development business to recruit a Senior Town Planner for their Shrewsbury office.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Town Planner to join an in-house planning team and take a lead role on a diverse portfolio of residential, mixed-use and strategic land projects. The role offers significant autonomy and the chance to influence planning strategy from early site appraisal through to securing planning consent and supporting delivery.

The Role

As a Senior Town Planner, you will:

Lead and manage planning applications, pre-applications and appeals
*

Provide strategic planning advice across development and land promotion projects
*

Undertake detailed site appraisals and assess planning risk and opportunity
*

Liaise with local planning authorities, landowners, consultants and stakeholders
*

Monitor Local Plan policy and contribute to representations and promotions
*

Prepare high-quality planning reports and recommendations
*

Support and mentor junior planning staff where required

About You

The ideal Senior Town Planner will have:

*

A degree in Town Planning or a related discipline
*

Several years' experience in planning, gained in consultancy, local authority or an in-house environment
*

Strong knowledge of UK planning policy and development management
*

Excellent written and verbal communication skills
*

A proactive, commercially aware approach
*

MRTPI status or be working towards chartership
