Senior Town Planner Job Description

Bennett and Game are delighted to represent a well-established, employee-owned multidisciplinary practice seeking an ambitious Senior Town Planner to join their growing team in their Cardiff office. Our client has a team of 29 professionals, with 18 based in Cardiff and 11 in Bristol, working collaboratively across planning, urban design, and landscape architecture. They specialise in sectors including Residential, Education, Heritage, and Commercial.

As part of the Planning team, the successful Senior Town Planner will work on a diverse range of projects from inception to delivery, including Leisure, Educational, Residential, Healthcare, and Mixed-use developments. The role involves preparing and submitting planning applications, appeals, and development appraisals. Responsibilities include:

  1. Undertaking tasks such as landscape design and occasional landscape planning.
  2. Working independently and within a team.
  3. Supporting and overseeing junior staff.
  4. Delivering projects within client briefs and budgets.
  5. Engaging with clients and stakeholders across various sectors.

Requirements:

  1. Minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience.
  2. Degree and/or Master's in Town Planning or related field.
  3. MRTPI qualification or working towards Chartered status.
  4. Strong understanding of UK planning policy and development management.
  5. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  6. Excellent communication skills.

Salary & Benefits:

  1. Salary range: £35,000 to £46,000, depending on experience.
