Job Title: Senior Technical Manager\n\nLocation: Watford, Hertfordshire\n\nSalary: £85,000 – £100,000 + Package\n\nAbout The Role\n\nYou will be joining a leading residential contractor/developer with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality homes across London and the South East. As the business continues to grow and win more work,  they are seeking an experienced Senior Technical Manager to join our dynamic team based out of an office in West Hertfordshire.\n\nRole Overview\n\nThe Senior Technical Manager will lead the technical function for multiple residential projects, ensuring design integrity, compliance, and timely delivery of technical information from planning through to completion.

This is a senior leadership role requiring strategic oversight, team management, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nTechnical Leadership: Oversee all technical aspects of developments from inception through to handover.\n\t\nDesign Management: Coordinate consultants, architects, and engineers to produce accurate and compliant working drawings.\n\t\nRegulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to Building Regulations, NHBC standards, planning conditions, and warranty provider requirements.\n\t\nProgramme & Budget Control: Manage technical programmes and budgets, ensuring timely delivery and cost efficiency.\n\t\nValue Engineering: Work closely with commercial and construction teams to optimize design solutions without compromising quality.\n\t\nStakeholder Engagement: Liaise with local authorities, statutory bodies, and third parties to secure approvals and agreements (Section 38, 278, 104).\n\t\nTeam Development: Mentor and manage technical coordinators, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.\n\t\nRisk Management: Identify and mitigate technical risks throughout the project lifecycle.\n\t\nInnovation & Sustainability: Drive best practices in design, materials, and construction methods to meet sustainability targets.\n\nRequirements\n\nProven experience as a Technical Manager or Senior Technical Manager within residential development, with strong management of Housining Association or Local Authority clients\n\t\nStrong knowledge of UK Building Regulations, planning processes, and technical standards.\n\t\nExcellent leadership and communication skills.\n\t\nAbility to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.\n\nPackage\n\nCompetitive salary: £85,000 – £100,000 (DOE)\n\t\nCar allowance\n\t\nPension scheme\n\t\nPrivate healthcare\n\t\nBonus scheme\n\t\n23 days holiday + bank holidays
