Your position As Senior Team Leader, you'll supervise a small team of Team Leaders, labourers and contractors to deliver construction and maintenance projects across roads, footpaths, drainage lines and other council assets. You'll manage day-to-day operations, coordinate resources, and ensure works are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard. This is a practical leadership role where you'll balance planning and administration with on-site supervision. You'll also play a key role in contractor management, WHS compliance, and continuous improvement of work practices. Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Lead and motivate a team to deliver civil works and maintenance programs Oversee scheduling, rostering and performance management Manage contractors and procurement processes Ensure compliance with WHS and environmental standards Operate plant and equipment when required Communicate effectively with internal teams, contractors and the community
To be successful in this role you will have:
Proven leadership experience in supervising civil teams. Demonstrated experience in civil construction, maintenance, and drainage works. Strong communication and organisational skills with a focus on safety and quality. Competency in the operation of minor plant and equipment. Proficiency in using computer systems and mobile work management tools (e.g. Assetic Mobility).
Key requirements:
Certificate III in Civil Construction or equivalent qualification, or at least five years' relevant experience. Current NSW MR Driver's Licence. NSW General Construction Induction Card (White Card). Be willing to undertake pre-employment screening, including a pre-employment medical and/or police check. Desirable: Traffic Control certification or willingness to obtain.
