Senior Systems Test Engineer

£50,000 - £55,000 plus bonus and benefits. Small flex for the right person.

Overview

An established engineering business is hiring a Senior Systems Test Engineer in Dundee.

You will join a hardware engineering team working on complex electro mechatronic products used in high availability environments worldwide.

This role sits in a cross-functional design team. You will shape test strategy and lead system testing across new product development and enhancements.

What you will do

• Own test strategy from concept to delivery
• Plan and run system and integration tests
• Analyse test data and report results clearly
• Develop and maintain automated tests
• Write test scripts using LabVIEW, Python or similar
• Support early design evaluation and debugging
• Build and set up test rigs for rapid development cycles
• Share insight from data and drive improvements
• Support and guide other test engineers
• Travel occasionally to customer or project sites

What you need

• 5+ years experience in a system or product test role
• Strong background in testing complex products
• Experience with electromechanical systems such as motors, sensors and control
• Test automation and scripting experience
• Hands-on knowledge of LabVIEW
• Confidence using data tools such as Excel and Power BI
• Good problem solving skills
• Clear written and spoken communication
• HND or degree in software, electronics, computing or similar

A mix of software, electronics and mechanical experience works well in this role.
