We are excited to offer an opportunity for an experienced Senior Residential Support Worker to be part of the opening team of a brand-new childrens home.

We are opening anew childrens homeregistered for two young people requiring short-term support (36 month placements). The home will operate with a 2:1 staffing ratio, providing high levels of therapeutic intervention and consistent care. This specialist setting is designed to stabilise placements, reduce risk, and support young people to transition successfully into a suitable longer-term childrens home.

Training & Development

What youll be doing.

As a Senior Residential Support Worker, you will play a key role in providing consistent, trauma-informed care while supporting the wider staff team. You will act as a positive role model, contribute to care planning, and help maintain high standards of practice within the home. xbpsjku

Responsibilities will include:

• Providing day-to-day care and emotional support to young people with complex needs
• Supporting children to manage behaviour positively and develop coping strategies
• Leading shifts, offering guidance to staff, and ensuring routines and care plans are followed
• Contributing to care planning, risk assessments, and behaviour support strategies
• Supporting young people to engage in education, activities, hobbies, and community life
• Promoting independence, self-esteem, and emotional wellbeing
• Maintaining accurate records and working in partnership with professionals and families
• Ensuring safeguarding, health and safety, and regulatory requirements are always met

Requirements

• Residential Childcare Level 3 qualification - Essential
• DRIVERS ONLY
• Experience working with children with EBD in a residential setting
• Strong safeguarding knowledge and a child-centred approach
• Ability to lead by example and support less experienced staff.
