Job Description

My client is looking for a Senior Structural Engineer to join their growing consultancy team in Leeds. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced engineer to take the lead on a wide range of residential and commercial developments, working in a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.\n\nAbout The Company\nThey are a well-established Civil and Structural Design Consultancy specialising in delivering innovative, practical, and cost-effective engineering solutions across the UK. Their focus is on providing high-quality design services for developers, architects, and contractors in the residential and commercial sectors.\n\nThe Role\nAs a Senior Structural Engineer, you will lead the design and delivery of structural projects from concept through to construction.

You’ll manage client relationships, mentor junior team members, and ensure technical excellence and compliance with industry standards.\n\nKey Responsibilities\nLead structural design on a range of residential and commercial buildings, including low- to mid-rise developments\nPrepare calculations, design reports, and technical drawings for steel, concrete, timber, and masonry structures\nOversee project delivery, from concept through to detailed design and construction support\nLiaise with clients, architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project coordination\nSupervise and mentor junior engineers and technicians\nEnsure all work complies with Building Regulations, British Standards, and relevant industry codes\n\nWhat They’re Looking For\nDegree in Civil or Structural Engineering\nChartered or near-chartered status (IStructE or ICE)\nMinimum 6+ years’ experience in structural design within a UK consultancy\nStrong technical ability with proven experience in residential and commercial structural design\nProficient in structural analysis software (e.g., Tekla Tedds, Robot, MasterSeries, etc.)\nExcellent communication, report writing, and leadership skills\nAble to manage multiple projects and deadlines with minimal supervision\n\nWhat They Offer\n✅ Competitive salary based on experience\n✅ Pension scheme and annual bonus\n✅ Clear pathway to Associate/Principal roles\n✅ Flexible/hybrid working options\n✅ Supportive team culture and regular CPD opportunities\n✅ A diverse portfolio of rewarding, hands-on projects\n\nJoin them and be part of a consultancy where your experience, insight, and initiative truly make an impact
