Senior Staff Nurse - Radiology/Imaging (IR)

London: The Harley Street Campus and The Princess Grace Hospital

Full time: 37.5 hours per week + rotational on call.

Shifts: (Shifts vary between Monday-Friday from 8:00-20:00, with additional weekday and weekend on call).

We are looking for a Senior Staff Nurse in Imaging/Interventional Radiology (IR) to join The Harley Street Clinic with cross site working at The Princess Grace Hospital.   As a Senior Staff Nurse within the imaging department you will provide a customer focused and high-quality nursing standards of care to our patients and service users. As a competent and experienced IR nurse you will be able to scrub and circulate throughout all the imaging modalities (IR, CT, MRI and Core Services) whilst providing highly skilled support in cases such as angiograms, embolization, PIC line and ports insertions, imaging guided drainages, biopsies and other therapeutic procedures. 

  

As a Senior Staff Nurse within the imaging department you will provide a customer focused and high-quality nursing service to our patients and service users.  

The role will require rotation throughout all the imaging modalities (IR, CT, MRI and Core Services) and throughout all the imaging sites, although the primary base will be the Harley Street Clinic.

You will also need to be flexible to work across the Harley St Campus which includes The Harley St Clinic and The Princess Grace Hospital.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide a professional standard of excellence in nursing service for all patients.

  • Competent in all areas of imaging Nursing, including assisting with one stop breast clinic, imaging guided drainages, biopsies, Interventional Radiology cases and therapeutic procedures.

  • Form an effective working relationship with Consultants, Radiographers and administrative staff/medical secretaries within the Department and the wider hospital.

What you'll bring:   

  • Hold a BSc (or equivalent) in Nursing and hold a current UK NMC registration

  • Significant experience in Imaging/Interventional Radiology (IR) is essential.

  • Critical thinking and rapid decision-making to be able make quick, accurate clinical decisions in a fast-paced environment

  • Radiation Safety: Demonstrating knowledge of radiation protection protocols for themselves and the patient.

  • Be able to effectively communicate within a multidisciplinary team (radiologists, radiographers) and providing emotional support to patients, who are often awake during procedures.

  • Able to use own initiative and ability to work as part of the team.

  • Ability to work flexible hours to meet the service requirements and will be required to work on call to cover the emergency service.

  • Ability to work under pressure and reliable.

  • Strong organisational skills working across many modalities
