17:30 X-on Health provides a unique blend of advanced cloud-based telephony and deep clinical integrations to over half of the GP surgeries in England. These solutions improve patient access, GP workflow efficiency and provide rich data insights and analytics. We are looking for someone with good depth of experience who can help us define a test automation framework that fits well between our unit test coverage and the manual testing that we currently have in place. The purpose of the role is to reduce our manual testing overhead and provide a robust, future-proof test automation framework that adds confidence in quality, and increasing value to the team. On joining the company, the ideal team member will be able to learn and understand the architecture of the platform and the products we develop. They will be able to identify areas where test automation would be a good fit
considering repetitive regression testing, API functional tests (potentially with mocked data), and other areas where automation will provide good value for effort. Responsibilities Work to understand our architecture and products Define a test automation strategy that aims to deliver long-lived value and is relevant and appropriate for our architecture and products. Implement the strategy using an appropriate framework coupled with industry standard, well-supported tooling Develop and maintain reusable test assets for the functional and non-functional testing of our products and services Develop CI/CD automation integration where applicable (with support) Work closely with product development and platform teams to establish a good level of test coverage per the strategy Understand and translate requirements (user stories, bugs, tasks etc.) into automated tests Coordinate with teams on release management activities Defect management activities Trend analysis and reporting for automation framework Advocate for, and implement best test practices within the group Mentor other members of the team in test automation development Stay up-to-date with new and modern testing tools and test strategies Comply with the companys Health & Safety, Data Protection, Information Security, PCI & DSP policies and procedures Skills required Essential Working experience setting up greenfield test automation frameworks Knowledge of test design patterns Experience testing APIs and web applications Programming skills in a well-supported test automation framework language Expertise in the application of test automation framework tools (e.g. Playwright, Selenium, JMeter, Postman) Deep understanding of software development methodologies (Agile, DevOps) Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, levels and types Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills Strong attention to detail Excellent communication and collaboration skills Desired Working experience of applying AI validation techniques Knowledge of Telecommunications technology Experience testing desktop applications (Electron) Benefits 25 Days Holiday plus an additional day for your birthday/equivalent Cycle to Work Scheme Winter Flu Jabs Free On-Site Parking Learning and development budget with Professional Qualification Support £1,000 employee referral bonus Social benefits (paid social events) Buy Holiday Scheme Employee Assistance Program Discount on Health Insurance Annual Salary Review Enhanced Company Sick Pay Monthly pizza in the office (Hybrid employees) / coffee voucher (Remote employees) SCG mobile benefit SCG is proud to be an equal opportunities employer.
