Job Description

Senior Security Systems Engineer\n\nFull time, Permanent \n\nLocation – Selby or\nGlasgow, with travel to other locations as required\n\nAbout the role: \nReporting to the Security Systems Manager, the Senior Security Systems Engineer will play a key role in maintaining, fault finding,\noptimising, and upgrading the wider Drax security systems infrastructure. This\nincludes ensuring the effective operation of CCTV, access control, perimeter\ndetection, and associated security technologies across all Drax sites in the UK\nand overseas.\n\nAs a Senior Security Systems Engineer, you’ll work proactively to\nidentify vulnerabilities, support system resilience, and implement improvements\nthat enhance overall security performance. You’ll collaborate closely with\ninternal stakeholders, external partners, and contractors to deliver a stable,\nsecure, and future ready security platform that supports both operational needs\nand regulatory requirements.\n\nThis role will require travel to sites throughout the UK\nas required, and there may be times where you’ll be working away from home.\n\nAdditionally, you’ll be required to be on-call 1 week in\nevery 4, as the team provides 24/7 support.

In return you’ll receive an on-call\nallowance as part of the package on offer.\n\nSome of your key responsibilities in this role will include:\n\nWork with the team to provide expert support on Drax’s security infrastructure including CCTV, access control, intruder, perimeter intrusion detection, barrier, gates, and turnstile systems\n\nManage and coordinate third party contractors and suppliers, ensuring safe working practices, clear briefs, compliance with site rules, accurate RAMS, and delivery of work to a high standard.\n\nAct as the primary point of contact for technical queries, performance monitoring, and signoff of works.\n\nDeliver assigned security projects in scope and on time.\n\nAssist the Security Systems Analyst and Security Systems Apprentice with the daily BAU tasks\n\nJoin the teams on call rota, to provide support to the business 24/7\n\nWho we are: \n\nWe’re not just talking about making a\ndifference, we’re making it happen. You’ll have a\nfull UK driving licence and be happy to work away from home when required and\nto commit to an on-call team rota.\n\nYou’ll also be able to demonstrate the following:\n\nGood understanding of CCTV network technologies, infrastructure and processes\n\nExperience installing, fault finding and maintaining large enterprise IP CCTV systems, Access Control systems, Intruder Detection Systems, Perimeter Intrusion Detection Systems.\n\nGood knowledge of Cisco or equivalent network switching and core networking principles relevant to security system architecture.\n\nExperience in maintaining, fault finding and installing large intruder alarm systems.\n\nExcellent documentation skills\n\nStrong personal commitment to safety\n\nRewards and benefits: \nAs you help us to shape the future, we’ve shaped\nour rewards and benefits to help you thrive and support \nyour lifestyle.
