Senior Residential Children's Support Worker

Purpose of the Role To provide high-quality, child-centred care and support in a residential children's home. The Senior Residential Support Worker will act as a role model, mentor to junior staff, and key worker to children in placement. The role includes shift leadership, safeguarding responsibilities, and active involvement in care planning and daily routines. Key Responsibilities Promote the safeguarding and wellbeing of all children in the home.
Provide consistent emotional and practical support to children, including helping with routines, activities, and life skills.
Lead shifts and delegate tasks to Residential Support Workers as required.
Act as a key worker for one or more children, supporting care planning and goal setting.
Attend and contribute to childrens reviews, planning meetings, and reports.
Maintain accurate records, logs, and reports in line with organisational and regulatory standards.
Support a positive team environment through supervision, mentoring, and teamwork.
Oversee delegated areas of responsibility such as medication, food hygiene, and health & safety.
Work flexibly on a rota basis, including weekends, evenings, and sleep-in shifts.
