Starting Salary: £38,683.63 (rising after 6-month probation)

Were looking for a Senior Residential Care Practitioner to join a warm, supportive 2-bed childrens home in Derby, where your leadership and care will make a lasting difference in young peoples lives.

The Role As a Senior Residential Care Practitioner, youll play a key role in delivering high-quality, therapeutic care while supporting and guiding your team on shift.
You will:
Lead shifts and support the day-to-day running of the home
Provide a safe, nurturing, and structured environment for young people
Support, mentor, and guide junior staff members
Contribute to care planning and risk assessments
Build positive, trusting relationships with children and young people
Promote independence, resilience, and emotional wellbeing

What Were Looking For Minimum 1 years experience managing or leading a team within childrens residential care
Strong knowledge of residential childcare practices and safeguarding
Relevant childcare qualification (as per regulatory requirements)
Full UK driving licence (essential)
Passion, resilience, and a genuine commitment to improving young lives

Working Pattern: This is a full-time role based on a structured rota:
56.4 hours per week (including sleep-ins)
Shift xbpsjku pattern: 08:00 11:00 (following day) with sleep-in and handover
3-week rolling rota, averaging 10 shifts per month
Includes training, meetings, and development hours (approx. 244.5 hours per month)
