Job Role Senior Quantity Surveyor Location:Warrenpoint Working Hours:40 JOB SUMMARY An exciting and rewarding role within a well-established company. The position requires the QS to provide detailed cost planning and estimates for capital works to include managing site abnormal and risk. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Manage all commercial aspects of contracts, from tender through to final account. Prepare, monitor, and control project budgets, forecasts, and cashflows. Lead the preparation and submission of valuations, variations, and claims. Administer contracts ensuring compliance with terms. Provide accurate and timely commercial reports to senior management and clients. Negotiate with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to secure favourable terms. Manage subcontractor procurement, payments, and performance evaluation. Support compliance with housing regulations, health & safety, and sustainability standards. Work collaboratively with operations, design, and client teams to achieve successful project delivery. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Required Qualifications Degree in Quantity Surveying or related field (RICS accreditation preferred). Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor (maintenance, refurbishment, or new build) preferably in Education sector. Strong knowledge of NEC Forms of Contracts Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills. High level of financial and commercial awareness. Strong IT skills, including cost management software and MS Office. Ability to lead teams and mentor junior staff. Valid CSR Card or formal Health and Safety Training Full UK Driving License 5 years experience in construction industry Attributes/Skills: The successful candidate should: Be capable of working on own initiative Ability to work methodically and with attention to detail Good communication and organisational skills Have a good timekeeping and attendance record Have the ability to work with a wide range of people and team player Demonstrate ability to follow written and verbal directions Demonstrate a flexible attitude towards assigned tasks Be reliable & committed Have ability to work to deadlines Participate in overtime when required (including weekends) Have ability to take on new skills Have a positive approach to continuous improvement processes and techniques Health & Safety: Adhere to all health & safety regulations and company policy at all times Report any accidents or issues regarding health & safety appropriately Ensure all Risk Assessments & safe systems of work are read, understood, signed and followed Observe & follow all manual handling practices In addition, As the majority of the work will be conducted in Public Sector or Housing Associations, we will require a recent Access NI certificate CTS will perform a Access NI check as part of the on-boarding process.
