Senior Quantity Surveyor – Major Power & Civils Project – Highlands (Hybrid)

Contract Scotland are recruiting for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a Tier 1 civil engineering contractor on a major new-build substation and access infrastructure project in the Scottish Highlands. This is a long-term freelance assignment (minimum 12 months, with multi‑year project duration) on a flagship power infrastructure scheme supporting the ongoing upgrade of Scotland’s electricity transmission network to enable net zero targets.

Position: Senior Quantity Surveyor

Location: Approximately 30 miles south‑west of Inverness, between Cannich and Tomich (west of Loch Ness)

Work pattern: Hybrid – typically 3 days on site, 1 day in office (Kilsyth or Inverness, depending on home location), 1 day WFH

Duration: Initial 12‑month contract, with the project running for around 4 years and annual renewals expected

You will be a key member of the commercial team, responsible for managing the full commercial lifecycle on a complex, high‑value civil engineering and energy project.

This greenfield scheme involves the construction of a new 400/132 kV substation platform and associated works as part of a wider transmission reinforcement and grid upgrade programme across Scotland, designed to connect increased renewable generation and strengthen the national network.
