Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor Location: Nottingham (office-based with flexibility; projects within 1 hour of Nottingham) Salary: Up to £70,000 + Car/Allowance + Bonus + Benefits
The Opportunity A well-established and reputable residential developer is looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their Nottingham office. You’ll work within an experienced commercial team and oversee multiple live housing developments across the East Midlands, taking responsibility for cost control, commercial strategy, and successful project delivery.
This role covers the full commercial lifecycle of residential schemes—from initial budgets through to final accounts—ensuring each project is delivered on budget, on programme, and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities Lead the commercial function on multiple residential developments Prepare budgets, cost plans, valuations, forecasts, and reports Procure subcontractors, negotiate terms, and manage payments Provide commercial input on design or specification changes Manage variations, valuations, and final accounts Support and mentor Assistant/Junior Quantity Surveyors Work collaboratively with construction, technical, and land teams
What We’re Looking For HNC/HND or Degree in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent) Proven experience as a QS/Senior QS within residential housebuilding Excellent commercial awareness, communication, and negotiation skills Strong understanding of construction methods, contracts, and regulations RICS/CIOB membership (or working towards) is a plus
