Role: Senior Quantity Surveyor

Salary: £80,000 - £85,000

Location: Lacock, Wiltshire

Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 40 hours


Stonegate Farmers are looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our rapidly expanding team. In this role, you will take the lead in preparing accurate cost estimates, overseeing financial management, and ensuring the successful delivery of construction projects within our £30m portfolio. Your work will span both residential and industrial developments — including new builds, extensions, fit-outs — as well as associated groundworks and civil infrastructure.

In addition to working within Stonegate Farmers, you will have oversight of our sister company, which will act as the principal contractor for all projects, ensuring seamless coordination and execution from planning through to completion.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects, including materials, labour, and associated expenses
  • Monitor and manage appointed contractors to ensure projects are delivered on schedule and within budget
  • Develop and maintain procurement schedules aligned with project timelines
  • Administer sub-contract payments and negotiate variations as required
  • Produce and review weekly cost/value reports
  • Negotiate contracts with both contractors and suppliers
  • Finalise accounts with contractors upon project completion
  • Prepare accurate cash flow forecasts for each project
  • Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety regulations throughout all project phases

Qualifications / Experience:

  • BSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
  • Must have relevant experience and qualifications in H&S & Compliance
  • Must be flexible in travel and hold a Full UK Driving License
  • Successful track record as commercial lead on schemes upto £1m
  • Able to demonstrate budget management up to £4m p/a
  • Previous experience across Industrial/ Residential buildings
  • Knowledge of various types of contract engagement, namely JCT.
