Senior Quantity Surveyor - Role Overview Youll be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive tender submissions for projects ranging from £50,000 to £2 million. Your estimates will draw on thorough knowledge of refurbishment, construction, and maintenance scopes across our sectors, including custodial, education, commercial, and residential works. This role is for someone living within the South and surrounding areas. Senior Quantity Surveyor - Key Responsibilities Provide contractual advice to the business and the project team, informing appropriate management of contractual issues and ensure the delivery team understand the contractual conditions Day-to-day contract and commercial management including managing communication and notifications to timescales, payment assessment, managing and valuing change and early warnings and review of claims to and from Sanper Construction Cost planning, budget estimating, review and challenge contractor estimates, feedback into benchmarking and lessons learnt Monitor actual costs against budget and prepare contract forecasts, identification of commercial risks and opportunities Lead on regular cost and contract audits to ensure contractor compliance with contract conditions Manage own portfolio of works including generally the larger & more complex projects Lead on all commercial matters in meetings and collaborative planning sessions Ensure all commercial and contractual issues are resolved and dealt with in a timely manner Manage relationships with the supply chain and work on growing the supply chain Review completed designs for Commercial and Contractual compliance Assist other departments as and when required Accurate reporting of job CVR positions to Commercial Manager Senior Quantity Surveyor - Person Specification Essential A minimum of five years UK-based experience in the construction sector Knowledge of UK building regulations and industry standards Experience of using different forms of contract (NEC3 & NEC4 Option A and JCT 2016 preferable) Strong organisational skills and attention to detail Effective communication and teamwork skills Ability to work safely and proactively in a site environment Competent IT skills (e.g., MS Office, project management tools) UK Rights to Work documentation Proven experience estimating for refurbishment and general construction projects (tenders between £50K-£2M) RICS, BSc, BEng or CIOB qualification Strong numerical, analytical, and attention-to-detail skills Full UK driving licence Strong Communication skills upstream and downstream Excellent time management skills Hold a CSCS card Willingness to travel Senior Quantity Surveyor - Desirable Thorough understanding of Sanpers sector mix (custodial, education, commercial, residential, maintenance) Benefits and Compensation Competitive salary Pension scheme Supportive, collaborative working environment Bonus Scheme Equality, Diversity and Inclusion We believe that diversity makes us stronger and that everyone deserves to feel respected, valued and able to thrive. xehkeey We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and are committed to a fair and inclusive recruitment process in line with the Equality Act 2010.
