Our client, a well‑established leader within highways and asphalt surfacing, is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor/Commercial Manager to take ownership of commercial performance across multiple projects. This role offers significant influence, autonomy, and the chance to guide a growing commercial team.

Key Responsibilities
* Lead commercial management across allocated projects
* Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and CVRs
* Control cash flow and final accounts
* Mitigate commercial and contractual risks
* Support value engineering and margin improvement
* Administer NEC, JCT, and bespoke highways contracts
* Manage variations, compensation events, and change control
* Negotiate with clients, authorities, and consultants
* Lead procurement of plant, materials, and subcontractors
* Oversee subcontractor performance and payments
* Maintain strong supply‑chain relationships
* Mentor QSs and trainees
* Provide commercial guidance to operational teams
* Contribute to business planning and framework bids
Qualifications & Experience
* Degree in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management
* Strong experience in highways, asphalt, or civil engineering
* Proven NEC contract management
* Experience leading commercial teams
* Excellent financial and contractual knowledge
* Strong negotiation and communication skills
* High accuracy and attention to detail
Desirable
* Chartered or working towards RICS/CIOB
* Experience with term maintenance frameworks
* Knowledge of asphalt production and testing
