A global sports and entertainment company is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to work in their central London office on a hybrid basis. This is a rare opportunity to combine strong commercial and construction expertise with a front-row seat to a world-class global sports series, influencing multi-million-pound infrastructure projects across iconic venues worldwide.
The organisation is expanding its centralised cost management capability to ensure that all major infrastructure spend - from temporary event structures to venue build-outs - is controlled, transparent and commercially robust.
This role provides commercial oversight across a global events portfolio, ensuring infrastructure is delivered on time, on budget and to the highest standards.
We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to establish and lead a new cost management function. This is a pivotal role supporting both global and regional teams, providing cost and commercial oversight for major infrastructure packages and driving value for money across the business.
You will work closely with Event Infrastructure teams and Regional Procurement Leads, supporting procurement processes, negotiating contracts and maintaining fit-for-purpose Bills of Quantities (BoQs) for each project. This is an opportunity for a hands-on, commercially minded QS to shape a new function while making a tangible impact on high-profile global events.
Key Responsibilities:
Cost Management & Commercial Control
Establish and lead a centralised infrastructure cost management function.
Produce, maintain and update Bills of Quantities (BoQs) for major temporary and permanent infrastructure projects and all event-related recurring costs.
Develop and manage cost plans, forecasts and projected final accounts.
Identify risks, key cost drivers and opportunities for efficiencies and value engineering.
Ensure strong commercial governance and cost control across all major infrastructure projects.Procurement & RFP Support
Provide cost and commercial input into infrastructure RFPs, including drafting, analysis and supplier evaluation.
Lead commercial negotiations with Tier 1 suppliers, including variations and scope changes.
Ensure procurement and tender processes are robust, transparent and deliver value for money.
Work closely with Regional Procurement Leads to align central processes while recognising local delivery requirements.Stakeholder Collaboration
Partner with Event Infrastructure teams to support planning, delivery and post-event reviews.
Collaborate across global and regional teams, balancing central oversight with local delivery needs.
Support continuous improvement of procurement, cost management and commercial governance processes.Background and Skills:
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally within construction, infrastructure, or large-scale event / temporary works environments.
Strong understanding of procurement, tendering and supplier evaluation.
Expertise in cost planning, forecasting and final account management.
Experience in contract negotiation, scope management and risk analysis.
Commercially astute, pragmatic and comfortable working hands-on in a live operational setting.
Able to communicate commercial and cost information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.About You:
