Senior Quantity Surveyor - Civils
Reading, UK
£500-£550 per day (Outside IR35 - depending on experience)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Length: 4 Months
We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a leading civil engineering project based in Reading. This is a high-impact role on a major infrastructure scheme, offering a competitive day rate and the opportunity to work with an established and forward-thinking contractor.
The Role
As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take commercial responsibility for key elements of a large-scale civils project. You will play a crucial role in ensuring financial control, maximising value, and supporting delivery teams to achieve project objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Manage all commercial aspects of the project lifecycle
Prepare, review, and negotiate contracts and subcontracts
Monitor project costs, forecasts, and budgets
Identify and manage risks, opportunities, and variations
Lead on valuations, applications for payment, and final accounts
Provide strategic commercial advice to the project team
Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and supply chain partners
Requirements
Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within the civil engineering sector
Strong knowledge of NEC contracts (essential)
Demonstrated ability to manage large infrastructure or civils packages
Excellent negotiation and communication skills
Degree-qualified (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or a related field
Professional membership (e.g., RICS) is desirable but not essential
