Senior Quantity Surveyor\n\nLocation: London\n\nType: Full Time\n\nRed Sky Personnel is representing a leading main contractor delivering a major, high-profile infrastructure project in London. Due to continued project demands, our client is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor with experience across civils, utilities, and/or design packages to take responsibility for the commercial management of a key section of works from initiation through to close-out.\n\nThe Senior Quantity Surveyor will oversee and manage all cost management and contract management activities for their allocated package(s), ensuring robust commercial control, accurate reporting, and effective contract administration throughout the project lifecycle.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nAdminister contractual terms and conditions for suppliers and subcontractors\n\nManage incentivisation arrangements where applicable\n\nOversee the assessment of EWNs and compensation events\n\nProduce regular cash flow forecasts and report expenditure against incentive targets\n\nLead the change management process, consulting with project and design teams to assess cost and risk impacts\n\nProduce monthly consolidated cost and expenditure reports\n\nOversee monthly valuation processes and contractor payments\n\nReview contractor, supplier, and design-related claims and support adjudication and settlement recommendations\n\nManage final accounts and contract close-out activities\n\nOversee the issue of consultant, supplier, and contractor instructions for approval\n\nSupport audits of accounts and commercial systems\n\nManage financial contingencies and risk allowances in line with programme position\n\nProvide commercial input into tender documentation and procurement strategies\n\nOversee cost analysis of tender returns, including open-book and two-stage procurement\n\nEnsure all project and design instructions are reviewed for cost implications\n\nSupport change control processes and assess cost impacts of proposed changes\n\nTechnical Skills & Competencies\n\nStrong knowledge of all aspects of commercial management\n\nIn-depth experience with NEC forms of contract\n\nExperience managing civils, utilities, and/or design packages\n\nUnderstanding of integrated reporting and commercial control systems\n\nKnowledge of programme and change management\n\nConfident user of IT systems and commercial software\n\nBehavioural Competencies\n\nAbility to lead and support a commercial team\n\nStrong attention to detail while maintaining a strategic overview\n\nConfident communicator, able to present to senior stakeholders\n\nQualifications, Certifications & Experience\n\nProven experience in commercial management\n\nExperience working on major projects valued at £100m+\n\nFormal qualification (RICS or similar) or equivalent proven experience\n\nIf you are interested in hearing more about this opportunity, please get in touch
