Job Description

Major Construction Projects | Edinburgh\nA leading main contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to support the delivery of large-scale, high-value construction projects across Edinburgh.\nThis is a real opportunity for a commercially driven Senior Quantity Surveyor who enjoys being on site, leading packages, and taking real ownership of project commercial performance from start to finish.\nThe Role\nReporting to the Commercial Director, you will be responsible for the full commercial management of major projects, typically from pre-construction through to final account.\nKey duties will include:\n * Full commercial responsibility for major construction projects\n * Managing cost plans, budgets, forecasts and CVRs\n * Procurement and commercial management of key subcontract packages\n * Valuations, variations, change control and final accounts\n * Managing subcontractor relationships and commercial risk\n * Producing accurate monthly commercial reports\n * Working closely with site and project teams to drive performance\n * Supporting and mentoring Assistant and Intermediate QS staff\nCandidate Requirements\n * Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor or experienced Project QS with a main contractor\n * Track record delivering large or complex construction projects\n * Strong knowledge of JCT and/or NEC contracts\n * Confident managing subcontractors and negotiating commercial outcomes\n * Ability to operate autonomously on live construction projects between £20M & £50M\n * Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills\n * Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline\n * MRICS or progression towards chartership is advantageous, but not essential\nWhat’s on Offer\n * Competitive salary plus attractive benefits package\n * Long-term pipeline of work in and around Edinburgh\n * Opportunity to work on high-profile, technically challenging projects\n * Stable, well-resourced contractor with strong commercial leadership\n * Clear progression to Commercial Manager for the right individual\nApply\nIf you are a Senior Quantity Surveyor with main contractor experience and are considering your next move in the Edinburgh market, please apply with confidence.
