The Opportunity

We are recruiting for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to take on a stand-alone commercial role on a major £45m high-rise residential development in Bristol.

The role is with a well-established specialist contractor operating across the UK, delivering complex façade, cladding, and external envelope packages on large-scale residential and commercial schemes. The business has built a strong reputation for delivering technically challenging projects, particularly within high-rise and RC frame environments, working with leading developers and main contractors.

The Role

This is a stand-alone Quantity Surveyor position, taking full responsibility for the commercial management of the external works package, with some involvement in internal elements as the project progresses.

You will be responsible for managing costs, subcontractors, and commercial performance across the lifecycle of the package, working closely with site and project teams to ensure successful delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Full commercial management of façade, cladding, and external works packages

Procurement and management of subcontractor packages

Preparation and agreement of valuations, variations, and final accounts

Cost reporting, forecasting, and budget control

Monitoring project costs and ensuring commercial targets are achieved

Managing subcontractor payments and commercial relationships

Liaising with site teams, project managers, and clients

Ensuring all commercial processes and documentation are maintained

Requirements

Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor on large-scale construction projects

Strong background in RC frame, high-rise, or façade/cladding packages

Experience working in a stand-alone commercial role

Ability to manage projects independently and take ownership of commercial performance

Strong negotiation and communication skills
