Your new companyYou'll be joining a leading construction organisation delivering one of the UK's most significant and ambitious infrastructure programmes. With a diverse workforce and major investment in the West Midlands, this is an exciting time to become part of a high-performing commercial team working at peak construction across a wide range of complex civil engineering assets.This is an opportunity to play a pivotal role in a long-term programme shaping the future of UK transport infrastructure.Your new roleAs a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take ownership of key commercial responsibilities across a designated section of this major project. Operating with autonomy, you will:
Lead commercial tasks and processes, exercising sound judgement within your area of responsibility. Work closely with the Project Manager or Commercial Manager on all commercial and contractual elements. Protect the organisation's commercial position through strong contractual, commercial, insurance and legal expertise. Build and maintain effective client relationships to support smooth commercial progression. Provide leadership, development and support to junior commercial team members. Apply strong commercial and technical knowledge to identify solutions that support delivery goals. Prepare and manage subcontract tender processes, evaluate returns, make recommendations and ensure accurate and timely placement of subcontracts.
What you'll need to succeed
B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Quantity Surveying, or equivalent experience. Proven experience working with NEC contracts. Background in large-scale infrastructure or civil engineering projects. Professional membership such as RICS, ICES or CIOB (advantageous). Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills. A proactive mindset with the ability to lead, mentor and drive commercial excellence. A valid right to work in the UK.
