Job Description

The Opportunity\n\nWe are recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a growing Irish main contractor with a strong UK and Ireland presence. This Senior Quantity Surveyor role will be based on a major student accommodation scheme in Birmingham.\n\nThis Senior Quantity Surveyor position is site-based (4 days on site, 1 day in office), working on a £30m+ student accommodation development (240 units). The project is due to start on site in the coming months and will run through to 2029.\n\nFor this Senior Quantity Surveyor role, you will be joining at pre-construction stage, giving full commercial ownership from early works through to final account.\n\nSenior Quantity Surveyor – Key Responsibilities\n\n * For this Senior Quantity Surveyor role, you will commercially lead a £30m+ student accommodation project\n\n * Report into the Commercial Manager\n\n * Take full responsibility for all commercial aspects from pre-construction through delivery\n\n * Manage and mentor 1–2 Junior Quantity Surveyors\n\n * Work closely with site and project delivery teams\n\n * Oversee cost control, procurement and commercial reporting\n\n * Ensure accurate financial forecasting and monthly reporting as a Senior Quantity Surveyor\n\nSenior Quantity Surveyor – Requirements\n\n * 7–10 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor\n\n * Experience with a Tier 2 main contractor or large subcontractor\n\n * Strong background delivering projects in the £10m–£50m range\n\n * Proven ability to lead commercial management of live projects\n\n * Degree-qualified (ideally from an Irish university)\n\n * Strong understanding of full project lifecycle duties for a Senior Quantity Surveyor\n\nSenior Quantity Surveyor – Package & Benefits\n\n * £70,000 – £100,000 salary (DOE)\n\n * Travel allowance\n\n * Discretionary bonus\n\n * Pension scheme\n\n * Healthcare\n\n * Long-term secured project pipeline\n\n * Strong progression opportunities within a growing UK business\n\nWhy Apply for this Senior Quantity Surveyor Role\n\n * Long-term project running through to 2029\n\n * Genuine opportunity to step into full commercial ownership\n\n * Mentoring responsibility with junior staff development\n\n * Strong pipeline of secured UK work\n\n * Tight-knit Irish contractor culture with fast-paced delivery environment\n\n * Clear growth plans across Birmingham and the wider UK region\n\nWorking Hours\n\n * Monday to Friday\n\n * 8:00am – 5:30pm
