The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to take full commercial responsibility for a high-profile high-rise project in Manchester. You will work closely with the project and commercial teams to ensure successful delivery, manage risk, and maximise commercial returns.

This role is ideal for a commercially astute QS with main contractor or builder-focused experience, confident in managing large-scale construction projects and leading a small team of commercial staff.

Key Responsibilities

Take ownership of the commercial management for assigned project(s) or elements Implement and integrate the project commercial strategy Act as the commercial representative to clients and supply chain, managing contractual issues Prepare tenders, evaluate and select supply chain partners, negotiate and finalise orders Prepare and agree client and supply chain valuations, certificates, and payments Manage change control, variations, and ensure robust records are maintained Update projected final accounts and prepare supply chain final accounts in a timely manner Participate in value engineering and design development discussions Maintain independent oversight of commercial reporting, cash flow, and risk/opportunity registers Lead and mentor junior commercial staff, ensuring high standards Support pre-...
