Vertical Recruitment is supporting a leading multi-disciplinary consultancy and engineering services organisation in the appointment of a Senior Project Manager to join a newly awarded AMP8 water framework in the North West.\n\nThis role will see the successful candidate embedded within a long-term capital delivery programme, supporting the upgrade and modernisation of water and wastewater infrastructure across the region. It offers exposure to high-profile, complex projects and an excellent platform for long-term career progression within a growing AMP8 portfolio.\n\nFollowing continued success in securing major frameworks and commissions across the water sector, our client is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager with a strong background in infrastructure delivery and proven expertise under NEC forms of contract.\n\nThe Role\n\nAs Senior Project Manager, you will lead the delivery of multiple projects or large, complex work packages. You will provide strategic direction, oversee project governance, act as a trusted client advisor, and mentor project teams to support successful AMP8 programme outcomes.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nLead the end-to-end delivery of complex water and wastewater projects\n\nEnsure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to quality standards\n\nProvide leadership across multi-disciplinary technical teams\n\nManage project governance, reporting, and assurance processes\n\nDevelop and implement project controls, including programmes, risk registers, stakeholder plans, Project Execution Plans (PEPs), and quality assurance plans\n\nAct as primary client interface and maintain strong stakeholder relationships\n\nChair project progress meetings and senior forums\n\nManage NEC3/NEC4 contracts, including change control, compensation events, and commercial governance\n\nOversee project financial performance, forecasting, and cost control\n\nIdentify and manage project risks, dependencies, and interfaces across the wider programme\n\nSupport business development and mentor junior team members\n\nWhat You Will Need\n\nProven experience in the construction, infrastructure, or development sectors\n\nStrong track record of delivering complex projects on programme and budget\n\nCollaborative approach, experienced in working with clients and multi-stakeholder teams\n\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills, including managing meetings at all levels\n\nExperience leading large technical and delivery teams\n\nStrong knowledge of NEC3/NEC4 contracts\n\nAbility to implement and manage a full suite of project management tools and controls\n\nAPM qualifications (PFQ and PMQ) or equivalent, working towards Chartered Project Professional status\n\nNEC3/NEC4 accreditation\n\nFull UK Driving Licence\n\nWhat’s on Offer\n\nCompetitive salary and benefits package\n\nFlexible pension allowance\n\nPrivate medical insurance\n\nFlexible and hybrid working options\n\n25 days annual leave plus bank holidays\n\nLong-term career development within a major AMP8 framework
