A specialty insurance and reinsurance business operating within the Lloyd’s and UK insurance markets is seeking a Regulatory Project Manager to deliver key regulatory and operational change initiatives. (18 month FTC)

Role Purpose

The Regulatory Project Manager will lead the delivery of regulatory projects across Lloyd’s and the UK insurance market. The initial focus will be supporting the launch of a Lloyd’s Managing Agent, including PRA/FCA authorisation, and implementing operational resilience frameworks in line with regulatory expectations. The role will also contribute to wider regulatory change initiatives impacting international operations and will work closely with senior stakeholders across compliance, risk, underwriting, operations and finance.

Key Responsibilities

Regulatory Project Delivery

• Manage end-to-end delivery of the Lloyd’s Managing Agent setup, including PRA/FCA authorisation and regulatory submissions.
• Develop and maintain regulatory project plans, tracking milestones and dependencies.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams and external stakeholders, including regulators, consultants and Lloyd’s.
• Deliver operational resilience workstreams, including impact assessments, mapping and scenario testing.
• Provide regular progress updates to senior management and governance forums.
• Ensure all documentation and audit trails meet regulatory standards.

Governance & Compliance

• Design and embed governance, risk and compliance frameworks aligned to FCA and Lloyd’s requirements.
• Develop and maintain core compliance documentation, including policies, risk registers and monitoring plans.
• Support implementation of SMCR structures and accountability frameworks.
• Coordinate regulatory change initiatives, thematic reviews, gap analyses and remediation activity.
• Support internal and external audits relating to regulatory compliance and operational resilience.

Stakeholder Management

• Partner with underwriting, operations, finance and IT to embed regulatory requirements into business processes.
• Act as a key point of contact with the FCA during authorisation and regulatory engagement.
• Produce regulatory readiness and project status reporting for executive and board-level stakeholders.

Skills & Experience

Essential

• Experience working within an MGA, intermediary or Lloyd’s environment.
• Strong understanding of FCA, PRA and Lloyd’s regulatory frameworks.
• Degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Project management qualification (e.g. PRINCE2, Agile).
• Hands-on experience with PRA/FCA authorisations.
• Experience delivering operational resilience programmes.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication and delivery skills.

Desirable

• Detailed knowledge of SYSC, PRIN and SMCR requirements.
