Role
As a Senior Project Manager HVDC, you will manage the delivery of a portfolio of capital projects, ensuring that they are developed and delivered safely, without adverse impact to the environment, within budget, to a high-quality standard and within the required timescales.
Project portfolio will be high-value and are expected to have a development and delivery phase of a 2-10 years’ duration.
The Senior Project Manager HVDC will be required work within the wider management team (across the SPT/NGET Joint Venture) and to undertake the full range of professional project management responsibilities for the EGL4 project through development, tendering, delivery and closure lifecycle.
What you’ll be doing
Responsible for the project management of identified project(s) from development through delivery to handover and providing project management controls across all areas of the project.
Accountable for the delivery of outputs, incentive metrics, milestones in line with business targets and effectively manage project risk and mitigate the impact of issues that may emerge.
Identify and understand the potential interactions with other interface projects and develop initiatives which minimise the impact on deliverability.
Manage interfaces with network outage planning to ensure the outage programme is fully informed by the requirements of the projects’ investment programme.
Creation of project plans and development of accurate capital expenditure forecasts and output projections on assigned projects, with accountability for project, contractual and financial governance.
Provide input to the management of the relevant regulatory processes along with identifying, promoting, and implementing innovation, efficiencies and value engineering.
Engage with all necessary internal and external stakeholders to promote effective communication and information sharing.
Promote and implement external and internal stakeholder engagement and community liaison for projects, including compliance with the SPEN Landowners Agreement and Code of Conduct.
Responsible for ensuring the scope is delivered within agreed programme and budget
Leading the client onsite teams ensuring compliance with all Health, Safety & Environmental regulations and Legislation.
Perform a leading role in continuous improvement in HSQE performance against agreed performance indicators.
Assist in the Contract and financial management of assigned contracts.
Responsible for financial governance of project aspects including financial forecasting and budgeting
Responsible for ensuring development, management and review of accurate contract specific project programmes of work including multi staged activities and integrated programmes of work where key interfaces exist.
Managing direct and indirect resources to ensure achievement of key sustainability environmental, planning, procurement, design, construction, commissioning and completion milestones
Ensure planning of progress, co-ordination interface meetings with the project team, client and contractors
Responsible for Team/Project compliance with applicable project Quality Management Systems
What you’ll bring
Degree qualified or equivalent experience with expert project management incl. but not limited to; planning skills, risk & opportunity management, leading high performing teams, investment approval processes, financial forecasting.
Significant experience of delivering infrastructure or transmission projects coupled with experience of working and leading multi-disciplined teams at a professional level.
Experience in planning activities for complex and interactive technical projects which have a timeframe over multiple years.
Ability to devise solutions to complex problems within large expenditure projects delivering on a timeline with commercial implications.
Minimum Criteria

Significant experience in project managing large and/or complex transmission infrastructure projects.

Degree in relevant Engineering Discipline or equivalent experience.

Full and Valid Driving licence.
